The Investiture Ceremony

The investiture ceremony officially welcomes a young person or adult into the Scouting movement, which can be a little bit scary for some Beavers and Cubs.

During the ceremony the young person will have to stand up in front of the group leader, with the rest of the group watching and make their scout promise. They will be asked if they know the scout law and scout motto, relating to the group they are joining.

During the ceremony they will be awarded the World Membership badge, County, District and group name tape. We will also hand out a Welcome pack that contains useful information regarding scout conduct, badges and what it means to be in scouting.

Please feel free to stay and watch the ceremony, and we encorage you to take photographs on the night, and to stay for a chat with the leaders.
