It is the policy of The Scout Association to safeguard the welfare of all Members by protecting them from neglect and from physical, sexual and emotional harm.
All Adults in Scouting, including Members of the Scout Network who wish to work with young people, are responsible for putting this policy into practice at all times.
Every adult member including leaders and helpers are required to have a enhanced police DBS (formally CRB) check if they help out more than once a month or if they are staying overnight at a Scout camp for instance.
Any leader who is found to have an outdated DBS will be asked to stop attending group meetings forthwith, and banned from further sessions until they have renewed with the Scout Association.
